- Air conditioned buses – one of which was even on schedule!
- Meeting by chance two people I had met on separate occasions in Mali over a month ago and catching up with them
- Beer in the evening with different guests at the Mighty Victory Hotel in Cape Coast – something I thought I would find everywhere, but ultimately proved to be quite elusive
- The canopy walk at Kakum Park – I did it!
- Visiting Elmina Castle
