Freelance Journalism

I am the editor of Icelandair Info, Icelandair's current in-flight magazine (since early 2012). I am also the Morning Brief editor on Canada's award-winning source for breaking political news, information and analysis, iPolitics (since late 2010).

As a freelance writer, I have covered a wide range of topics and was a staff writer at Iceland Review (a quarterly specialist publication on Iceland) and Atlantica (the former in-flight magazine for Icelandair) from 2005 until the end of 2008. My primary interest is travel writing, and I've published numerous travel features and contributed to several guidebooks. In April 2014, I was named a Top Travel Guide Contributor by TripAdvisor's FlipKey blog.

I am also a regular commentator on Icelandic current affairs for foreign media, and have made appearances appearances on BBC Radio Scotland, CBS Radio (US), CBC television and CBC radio (Canada), France 24, and RTE (Ireland).
